Heyyy & Chirpy join forces for Thinking of You Week 2023

This year Heyyy Cards partnered with the lovely Jo McBeath from Chirpy in Chapel Allerton to host a charity event during Thinking of You Week, and to raise money for Jo's chosen charity, Breast Cancer Now.

We were absolutely delighted to be working with a fabulous independent retailer again this year to bring our personalised card printing service to store in celebration of Thinking of You Week.

Sending cards is such a personal and creative way to show loved ones that you are thinking of them and being able to donate proceeds of the card sales to such a valued charity made the event even more rewarding.

We first met Jo at this year’s PG Live tradeshow, where she complimented our new sign language cards. When Jo asked if we would be willing to offer a personalised service on this range for TOYW we thought this was a brilliant idea!

Jo was excited to be involved in TOYW for the first time this year and explained a little bit about what the event meant for Chirpy and about the charity that she has chosen to donate proceeds of the day’s activities to:

“Cards are the backbone of Chirpy and our customers love the great ranges we always have in stock, returning regularly to stock up for all occasions. Heyyy cards have been a great addition to Chirpy and we particularly love the Two Finger Salute range, which we thought would be perfect Thinking of You Week.  As I previously had Breast Cancer myself every year we raise money for Breast Cancer Now so this seemed the perfect opportunity to link the two. We’re so grateful to some wonderful local artists, makers & businesses who donated some great prizes for the charity raffle".

We arrived early into store and set up our charity table in Jo's beautiful workshop space above the shop, selling themed cupcakes made by Hot Cross Bunting and biscuits from K.O. Cakes, alongside raffle tickets with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now.

Dan set up shop with his computer, ready to print off personalised cards also sold for charity.

Jo had promoted the event online, and we were really busy from the minute the shop opened. We met lots of lovely customers who gave generously. Over 60 Personslised cards were sold including cards sold to ladies who had a personal connection to breast cancer and the charity we were raising money for, some parents who were looking for birthday cards for a children's party and a lovely gentleman who was looking for a special anniversary card for his wife. We enjoyed meeting everyone and were very grateful for all the support and kind wishes.

The cakes and biscuits which were also a big hit, and Jo will continue to sell raffle tickets at other events throughout the month.

So far over £250 has been raised, with the final total to be counted up at the beginning of November once all donations are in.

What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday, promoting the kindness and joy of sending greeting cards, but also raising money for a very worthy cause.

Thank you to Jo for hosting us, and also to everyone who visited and donated generously ❤️
